In the Box
Our take on the classic TKL layout. The Eighty offers a timeless yet striking design that provides a delightful typing experience and user friendly features.
CaseThe top and bottom halves of the case feature clean but distinct lines precision machined out of 6063 Aluminum. The two interlocking halves are securely held together with only three screws.
FinishesSnow: E-White top/ E-White bottom / Black alu plate
Lotus: Black top / E-Lilac bottom / E-Lilac alu
plate
Iris: E-lilac top / Black bottom / Black alu plate
The solderable variants of the plate include stabilizer cutouts so that stabilizers may be repaired or modified without desoldering.
The hotswap variant of the plate has standoffs which are required by the hotswap PCB, and does not include the stabilizer cutouts.
Mounting SystemWe refer to the mounting system of the Eighty as the "Stack Mount." The plate/PCB assembly stacks onto three posts located in the case and is supported by a sheet of Poron which provides compression to hold the components in place. The typing feel is firm but not unforgiving, and can be made softer with the use of our FR4 or PC plates.
An optional middle gasket that sits between the plate and PCB is provided for those who prefer a more muted sound profile.
Supported LayoutsHotswap PCB/Plates: Tsangan(7u space) or standard(6.25u space) bottom row, normal/stepped caps, normal right shift, and normal backspace.
